LIVE REVIEW: FEET + L’objectif

FEET kicked off the first leg of their latest tour with a fantastic performance at The Grove, Newcastle.

The first night of a tour can often seem daunting and lead a band/artist to lack confidence, or seem out of sorts. However this wasn’t one of those such evenings, as FEET and their support for the evening (L’objectif) both delivered in what is a promising sign for the rest of the tour.

Support act – L’objectif

Despite the ‘pretty-boy’ facade L’objectif are a very musically diverse and talented group. The band, who were originally formed as a duo, certainly have something about them. The sound they create across the guitar work is completely bewitching, made all the more impressive when you consider the recent reshuffle in membership. However, if anything, the group seems all the stronger for it.

On stage they seem very confident and completely at ease, yet still feel very real and grounded in their performance. They seem to have perfected the balance of having faith in their obvious capabilities, without any inflated sense of self. It has the effect of elevating what was already a quality performance just that bit further: they come across as complete professionals.

Now onto FEET, we saw them not too long ago at Neighbourhood festival 2024, and they were equally as resplendent on stage as they were to the lively Manchester crowd. Musically they come across incredibly well, the new album ‘Make it up’ is especially good with the additions strengthening an already solid repertoire. ‘why would I lie’ in particular stands out, a truly catchy tune that just worms it’s way into your subconscious, and before you know it you’re signing along

By far the most impressive quality was their ability to put on a real show, from the small TV set placed perfectly on stage to the evident chemistry they have with one another: All the details of what they do add up to manifest a truly excellent performance. Frankly they seemed to dispatch the gig  with a greater knowledge, that bordered on omniscience.

FEET Lead Singer George Haverson

Their experience exuded through an intoxicatingly nonchalant attitude, that just added to an already brilliant performance. Lead Singer, George Haverson, captains this energy perfectly with the way he maneuvers himself, bouncing consummately off every one of his bandmates. He balances flawlessly both a high intensity with a light-hearted, fun, edge that many frontmen would struggle to replicate.

Overall FEET put forward a nigh immaculate display, that you won’t want to miss as they continue the dates on their UK Tour.
