Fonatines Dc released their latest single “Here’s The Thing” amid the impending release of their album “Romance”.

Only last week, Dublin outfit Fonatines DC announced their biggest headline show to date, slated for next July at London’s Finsbury Park.

But they weren’t done their, also teasing their latest single “Here’s The Thing” ,which released yesterday, but how does it fair in comparison to what we’ve had so far ?

In our opinion “Starburster” and “Favourite” are two very strong singles and are hard to beat… but could this single top them?

No it doesn’t…. it is a very different style to the earlier tracks, it lacks the punch and rhythm offered by “Starburster”, and misses the strong melody of “Favorite”. It feels more like a filler than a strong single submission.

However that’s no real criticism, as despite it perhaps not matching up, this is only due to how good this newer sound has been and still seems to indicate how strong an album “Romance” will be.

We give it a harsh but fair : 6.8/10
