This week Deadletter put on a remarkable performance at The Cluny Newcastle as part of their ‘Hysterical Strength’ tour.
Not long since back in the UK, after gracing the rest of Europe with their infectious strain of vehement post-punk, Deadletter set out to impress the Tuesday crowd. Impress they certainly did, with what is rapidly becoming a hallmark performance, for a group going from strength to (Hysterical) strength.

Recently we’ve spoken a lot about talented, enigmatic, and energetic frontmen, but Zac Lawrence is a cut above in those categories. Out of the gates, he embodied an all or nothing performance, delivering 100% from the moment he glided on stage till the moment he stepped off to thunderous applause. Musically the group is fantastic, but it’s the performance of Lawrence that really places them on the precipice of greatness.

The way in which he responded to the audience, was perfectly instinctual, making anyone who has decided to hang at that the back, instantly regret that decision. Now blend this with the apparent musical talent in display, particularly so the addition of the saxophone, and you have a recipe for an act that has everything .
