Last week Interval Records hosted its first live showcase, there we sat down with Finn Forster.

Interval Records Live showcase took place last week, displaying all of its signed talent, namely: Ellie Scoguall, Remeè, Koj, and Finn Forster at The Grove Newcastle. While there we spoke with the former; a rising talent in the indie-folk scene, hailing from Teesside.

Finn was in particular good spirits and seemed especially positive about his involvement with the label. “Yeah it’s incredibly exciting for me especially as an up-and -coming artist. To be the first ever signing to Interval Records has been a real moment in my career”.

Interval Records only founded in 2023, formed as a partnership between Universal Music UK’s EMI North division and leading creative talent development agency, Generator. However it seems to be quickly finding its feet and its place within the landscape as artist and label aid one another. As Finn put it “I’m sort of showcasing who i am you know and then the labels showcasing who they are as well “.

We even spoke about the festival season, in particular his favourite moment from this year while performing “YNot Festival was great,just because its the first time I’ve ever played, and we were on at 4.30, and we weren’t expecting anyone down. But then by the time, I think, I was in the first verse of the first opening song,we had like a full tent, and everyone just kind of came down. And just made it unbelievable,  I think it shocked everyone, even the organisers of the stage” .

Despite only being in the infancy of a career with, as yet, limitless potential ; we asked what it would give him an ‘I made it moment’. His response was admittedly niche, “Being featured in the Hard Rock Cafe would be crazy. I always went in there as a kid and loved looking at the guitars and t shirts on the wall. I’d love to have stuff in there”.

When chatting about future music and upcoming projects, Forster had exciting news for fans, ” I’ve got a couple of interesting things coming up my sleeve, that are in the works at the moment, And I think all I could probably say at the moment is there’s plenty of it.”.

Finn is undoubtedly a promising young artist, with a career that has a potentially incredibly high ceiling, his talented is only matched by his hunger to succeed and passion for music. For that alone, he is someone who we truly believe can shatter that high ceiling expected from him.
